April 2024

Howdy y’all!

This month has been nothing short of extraordinary for our club! Our Wild West Night was a hootin’ success, raising an impressive $43,888.58. Such an achievement could not have been made without the hard work and dedication of our remarkable volunteers. I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Wild West co-chairs and the committee, whose tireless efforts made this event unforgettable. A big thank you also goes out to all our community sponsors, local businesses, and units that also played a crucial role in our success!

Congratulations to Karrisa Dolan for receiving February's Volunteer of the Month installation award for her dedication in helping make Wild West Night a success. She dedicated over 120 hours during the month of February, met with committee members, organized logistics for the event, and eased everyone's worries the entire time. We are so grateful for her! Brianne Culbreath received the February Volunteer of the Month Merit award through her contributions as the FCSC Historian and Silent Auction Committee for Wild West Night. She donated over 70 hours of her time helping to secure over 90 silent auction items and organized the day of. Her efforts should not go unnoticed and aided in making the event a great success! Congratulations!

We're immensely grateful to everyone who participated and supported the event. It was a joy to see so many come together, enjoying dancing, games, and the company of others, all in support of our fantastic community.

I'm excited to announce that we have managed to raise $75,000 for grants in the 2023-2024 board year. Our grants committee met in the first week of March to allocate these funds, and members will vote to approve these disbursements at the April 17th luncheon.

Additionally, the election for the 2024-2025 executive board year will occur at the April Luncheon. It is critical for members to attend this luncheon to ensure a valid vote.

We're also looking forward to honoring all our volunteers during this luncheon. We look forward to seeing all of you and enjoying a fun afternoon of trivia!

Wild West Night

Wild West Night was a high energy and unforgettable evening!!!  $44,000 was raised and added to our annual fundraising efforts!!!  As nostalgic 90’s Country covers filled the room, over 300 attendees enjoyed the evening’s festivities - the variety of Casino games led by 2nd BDE Black Jack volunteers; the photo booth had steady flashes; the mechanical bull was braved by riders; boots hit the dance floor line dancing; food was enjoyed; silent auctions were curiously checked in on; and laughter & conversations filled the air.  Priest Auctioneers donated their time to lead us in a thrilling Live Auction.  Seeing our community and military coming together for a worthy cause was a fantastic way to round out our year of raising funds for community grants.

Wild West night proceeds are added to the collective efforts of our other annual fundraising events: Holiday Bizarre, Flamingo Flocking, Event/Décor Rentals, etc. – this year our collective efforts raised $75,000 that’ll be dispersed via community grants to local nonprofits this spring!!    Job well done FCSC!

Thank you to everyone who took part in supporting this event in any capacity –Brigades and units who donated amazing auction baskets; our sponsors and local business donors; Black Jack BDE for coordinating the Casino games; those who helped promote the event; to everyone who attended and/or volunteered before, during & after the event; and to our Wild West Committee for their tremendous work in coordinating this event – Co-Chairs Karissa Dolan & Marisa Wells, Committee Members: Ash Stoner, Brianne Culbreath, Emma Tighe, Tesh Gumabon, Lauren Ziegelhofer, Joanna Denny, Carmen Tally-Golliday, Julie Dempsey, Chloe Sardinas, Courtney Ireland, Xeon  Simpson, Ashley Plumb, Jade Woods, Misty Manini, Lisa Gaines, Courtney Flohr, Cheryl Sickler, Brittany  Jones, Angela Owens, and Liz Russell.
